Back in the 80's, I saw Black Flag, The Ramones, GWAR and lots of other cool punk (and other punk/metal) bands. By far, the loudest concert I have ever been to was definitely The Ramones at City Gardens in Trenton, NJ. The craziest was Pantera on the Cowboys From Hell tour at some club in NYC.

I used to LOVE the Ramones and Black Flag! I only got to see Henry Rollins Band at a Lollapalozza or KROQ Weenie Roast I went to. I never got to see him when he was fronting Black Flag sadly.

80s where great
Rock music wasn't as good as the 70s but I have to admit I liked a lot of hair bands with the exception of the overly effeminate ones like Poison, Warrant, etc. Metallica was probably my favorite at the time.
Here's my "best of" list for musicians of the period (not necessarily my favorites but top of their craft)
Vocals: Geoff Tate (Queensryche) - spare me the Sapphy!
Guitar: Eddie Van Halen (Van Halen)
Bass: Billy Sheehan (Mr. Big, David Lee Roth)
Drums: Neil Pert (Rush)
Keyboards: Those were for sissies - Eddie Van Halen not withstanding

I don't know if it's me being a woman and NOT liking them because my hubby LOVES them, but I cannot STAND Queensryche. It reminds me of when we met and his friend,Ken always hung out with us. He was the can on the back of our car when we got married. Him and Ken always listened to Queensryche. ICK ICK ICK SAVE ME
