I have also read all the Wheel of Time (except for the ones out after he died, just waiting to re-read until they are all out) and if you liked those, I see no reason why you wouldn't enjoy goodkind's work.

This might be true simply because Goodkind seemingly took all of Jordan's ideas, gave them different names, and wrote a slightly different story using all of those borrowed concepts. In other words, there is nothing original in Goodkinds work and that is being kind. I would actually accuse him of stealing another authors work. The only thing he adds is a weird fascination with sexual abuse.

Okay I get tired of this crap, Jordan f***ing bastardized half of the Arthurian legend, so don't sit around and pretend that the WoT is so f***ing original.

There is a pretty clear difference between taking ideas from legend and directly copying entire concepts from a book that came out a couple years ago.

At least you admit your point was stupid.

This. I had assumed most would understand this without the need to have it spelled out for them.

I don't know...I read Goodkind first and when going through WoT I didn't pick up the similarities. Even thinking now consciously thinking about it, I can only think of a few things. I can think of a lot of things that are different. Maybe someone can make a list of the "ripped off" ideas.

I'm rereading WoT now actually. I want to read the new ones, but I read the 1st 11 in such a blur and don't remember everything going on.
