Yeah, if you like rape then Goodkind is your author.
I can only think of one female character who isn't raped, and she comes damn close.

i started reading the series recently, after having watched the tv show a couple months ago. i enjoy the books, its an interesting world and story. but i have to admit the only fantasy novels i read in the past have been tolkien and salvatore, so i don't have much to compare it to. i am on book 3.

Their is nothing in existence more horrible than the Sword of Truth, i don't even know how Yoss got passed the first 100 pages let alone the first 3 books.

I read the entire series, I honestly enjoyed it. Granted I really only enjoyed the first four and the last three, the middle ones not so much. Overall though, if you really liked the second one keep going all the way, if you thought it was OK I would at least read the second one, Stone of Tears as I thought it was one of the best of the series.
Just my opinion though, I've noticed you either love it or hate this series, no middle ground.

He does sound like a douche :>
I agree with him on Ayn Rand though, you should read it, even if you don't agree with the views in the books. (I don't)

LOL, fun read through this thread.
I enjoyed the first two or three books, although i wondered if he was for real in where he kept taking things. Then it just started getting insipidly stupid, to the point that i can't even enjoy the first few books anymore.

I read them all, 1 was my favorite book until Patrick Rothfuss's Name of the Wind. The 1st three are great, 4-5 are ok, 6 tho (faith of the fallen) was my 2nd fav of the series and then they were annoying until the final 3 which were a nice trilogy of themselves.
I have also read all the Wheel of Time (except for the ones out after he died, just waiting to re-read until they are all out) and if you liked those, I see no reason why you wouldn't enjoy goodkind's work.
And uhh, the tv series is annoying for me, altho I have dutifully watched them all, they change dumb things loike stripping richards magic power
