i need something to break me out of this reading funk i'm in |
i can't even judge how long this book is. my nook is telling me 185 pages. that has to be 185 pages at microscopic font because even at the smallest font setting, the page number only changes with every 3 pages i read. which means that either the publisher is goddamn retarded or the mmp font is so small and jammed together that i'd need a magnifying glass to read the physical edition. i'm going to guess that the publisher is just retarded. so i'm on some part of page 159. right after the rogue incident. reading this makes me want to brush my teeth and shower.

ok well. i didn't realize pages 80+ were a preview for the next book. so yeah that was short. fast light reading yes. not sure i want to continue with the series. it's like a war going on in my head. unfinished story. must finish story. didn't like story that much though. omfg though must finish story.  i'm going to turn into yoss.

so apparently i ordered the second book last night while not exactly sober. good going me! well if i like this one at least mildly more than the last i'll probably just get them all.

I've read both that are out right now. I'm not going to say they are some marvel of fantasy, because they're not. but they are quick reads, with a lot of humor (I love Oberon) that will actually make you laugh out loud, while using a Mythology not commonly used in books today in a unique way. Overall, I love the series.

I've read several. Some YA some regular fantasy. I could throw together a list for you.
*edit* The only caveat is that almost all fantasy based on irish mythology is depressing and/or bittersweet.

I have read a lot of series that focus on the fae and Irish mythology tends to rub in on the periphery but not many that put their Gods in the forefront, especially as primary characters.
