I plan on it. Been a fan of Tim Burton's films since the 80's. I like "weird" movies.

Have you seen the preview on TV that doesn't even show Alice?
Not a chance in hell I'm paying for 90 minutes of Johnny Depp being a douchebag.

I'm pretty "meh" on Depp, but my kids like him and are both pretty big Alice fans. We're heading to Imax 3D on Friday which is an hour drive for us.

I'll probably go see it, but I doubt I'll see the 3D version. 3D is nice when it's an occasional feature in a movie. Hollywood is gearing up to convert all movies and theaters to 3D so they can raise the ticket price another few bucks. I'll start watching all my movies at home if it comes to that.

What I find most interesting about the film is that they're not really out and out saying it's a "sequel", a la "Return to Oz" rather than an adaptation of the books. I mean, they're not trying to hide it either, but I think it might take some people by surprise.
I also see The White Rabbit, now with annoying Mike Myersesque Scottish accent, saying "you're late for TEA!" while throwing a teacup, and imagine it flying out at us, the audience, IN THREE DIMENSIONS... and sigh, frankly. If you're going to film something in 3D, it better not be to have all the innovation of Jaws 3.

I was under the impression that the movie wasn't made for 3d, it's just added to it (Like CLash of the Titans will be) , so we won't end up with the "ooooh... 3D... look at this coming at you..." stuff.
And hey, Blond. Is your avatar from Haibane Renmei? Loved that series.

I might go see it at my local Imax, but probably not during opening weekend. Unlike Avatar, I'm heard the 3-D was sort of added on mostly as an after-thought to cash in on the growing 3D craze.
