What the hell, I decided to give the Logitech G510 a try. I had assumed the main difference between the G110 and G510 was just the LCD, but learned there is actually another pretty big difference I didn't know about.

There are some smaller trivial differences, the G510 has more LED backlighting color options, you can make the G510 look brighter with these colors too, even white lighting if you wanted. Kinda like that. G510 oddly doesn't have a USB port on it though (guess it can't spare the power because of the LCD). The wrist rest is a little better too.

But the big thing I didn't know about is there is a difference in the quality of the keys. I thought the G110 kinda felt a little soft and mushy. The G510 has a more distinct cleaner feel when typing. I was watching a YouTube video just after my last post and they mentioned this and it was the reason I jumped in my car and drove to Best Buy to get it and what he said is definitely true, the G510 feels better to type on than the G110.

My accountant (good friend forever) is really particular about his keyboards. It is a mechanical model made way back when. He trawls eBay and the like for it and whenever he finds one he snaps it up and always has a couple of them tucked away.

If Thinkgeek still sells their Linux Tux keyboard, or whatever, it's basically a recreation of the the IBM M which is what he is probably using (or a similar facsimile). I used to use one at work until my coworkers complained of the loud clicking noise the keys make. And since I was doing a lot of PHP coding and documentation at the time, it was a lot of clicking.
