Despite the huge sigh of disappointment over the iPhone 4S it racked up 1 million pre-orders within the first 24 hours and is sold out.

That was to be expected, vast majority of apple "fans" buy whatever they put out. It really is like that one southpark episode.

one of them was my gf who has a 3g and it takes 2 min to open up facebook, and almost 1 min to open her text messages.

The iPhone 4S is nice, no doubt, but not enough to make me want to upgrade to it from a 4.
Siri is what seals the deal for me, only available on the 4s, unfortunately. However, I see myself using that daily, all day.
