I dropped ATI/AMD after I started to have major issues with opengl games I was playing. Mainly City of Heroes. Although I have recently heard Nvidia having driver problems with newer opengl stuff, but I haven't looked into much.

We should get Persistant or BT in here to settle this debate. They are good at FUD.

I can help you out on BT's views on graphics cards. It'll be whichever one Ron Paul uses.

my HD 4850 in my spare computer doesnt like the newest drivers. it seems to only work on 11.7. if you try updating to 11.8 (before 11.9 came out) it would just go blank and lock up the system lol. have yet to really try updating to the 11.9 bc im not really having any issues with 11.7.

AMD's new driver download tool sure is pissing me off though.

Never Use TOOLS. Nvidias is also bad about mis-diagnosing the chips drivers needed.
