I'm not a Apple fanboi but I like their stuff.

There's just a bunch of Apple haters here. Wrong about so many things? These are opinions.

I will break it down:

Jobs didn't want Bluray players in Mac's because he believes streaming is the way to go and Bluray has some licensing issues he didn't want to deal with. It would increase the cost of the computer as well.

These are not Job's exact words, but this is how he felt about Bluray. That's him, not me. Here's a link, with the original bag of hurt link in the article as well.
http://www.techradar.com/news/video/blu-ray/jobs-says-no-to-blu-ray-on-macs-again-700614?src=rss&attr=all

Bluray is not going to replace the DVD. Streaming and Digital downloads are the way of the future. It would be hypocritical for him to think otherwise, since his iTunes based App Store has Music, Apps and streamable movie rentals.

This is just my opinion. I know a lot of people that have Netflix or Hulu and stream movies. They don't really buy many DVD's and I still know many people that don't even have a bluray player.

Everyone is on the digital download "app store" thing these days. Steam's been doing it for years, now EA has Origin and even Microsoft is doing it with Windows 8.

Not sure what's so false or wrong about this statement. Why is MS putting an App store in Windows 8? Even Android has a marketplace and Amazon's new Kindle is based on this model.

I have a PS3 for Bluray's and no PC in my house has or needs a Bluray player as it's optical drive. No games are shipping on Bluray except for the PS3.

This is just my opinion based on what I have or need. I can stream to any PC, for bluray, I'd have to install hardware in each PC.

Look at the Android phones. They look like iPhones. Slate look, touch screen, little square icons in rows, etc. It's a total rip off. No phone looked or acted like that before the iPhone.

Ok, this is my opinion as well, but it's not completely true or false. What I meant was there wasn't any company that put a phone like the iPhone in a complete working package before or we would have had an iPhone type phone back in 2006 or 2001 or 2000 like you are saying. If they were so great, why hasn't anyone heard of them? Why do you see so many phones like the iPhone now? Because it was successful and it's often imitated. I don't remember any touch screen phones with gestures, 4 rows of 4 icon layout screens, web browser, app stores, music player, video players, etc prior to 2007.

Several things still wrong. Think of the iPhone like World of Warcraft. WoW was not the first of it's kind to come along, not by a long shot, but it took off like a bat out of hell because of several factors that just gelled together at the right time. A company with a solid backing fan base, slick presentation, many (NOT original) ideas glommed together in a way that appealed to people. Also, take into account that just 10 years ago not everyone had phones like they do now, it was still a burgeoning market. Then along comes Windows and others with these new fangled smart phones and people were a bit stand offish. It was at this point that Jobs added phone bits to is iPod and the rest is history. This is what happened here and it answers your question of "why not before".

And as for Android "having square buttons all in a row"....have you ever even used an android phone? Because that's just the app drawer....and they aren't square.

Ok, because a phone had a touch screen and was rectangle doesn't mean it's the same as the iPhone was. I'm talking about pinch to zoom, swiping....gestures, app store, etc. Also, the iPhone had a gyroscope and I don't think the Prada had that.

The LG Prada was announced in 2006 with a lot of pics, but didn't release until 2008, the iPhone came out in 2007. LG complained Apple ripped it off, but there has been no news about a lawsuit and LG has been quiet. Maybe there was a settlement or maybe there wasn't a case. I don't know.

Also this:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/43059955/ns/technology_and_science-tech_and_gadgets/t/netflixs-internet-traffic-overtakes-web-surfing/#.TrvX3Fb0-pM

Most internet traffic is from Netflix? Streaming is alive and well. Bluray is not dead, but things are changing.

Back to the phone, WoW is a bad example, the other MMO's were still successful, just not as successful. EQ1 was considered the #1 MMO and had lots of subs. WoW comes along and has millions. I don't know of any phone, like the iPhone that was even as successful as EQ1 was compared to WoW. Like I said before, every slate phone now looks very similar to the iPhone and Android appears to be the closest. Someone from Google was on Apple's Board for a long time and had to leave because of the conflict of interest. He left in 2009, two years after the iPhone came out and the first Android phone came out in 2008, but Google's Nexus 1 base model came out (looked like the iPhone) in 2010.

ZOMG a gyroscope, completely different phone then! I just can't use a phone if it doesn't have a gyroscope!

The only thing iPhone had over previous smartphones was multitouch and gestures, big buttons is nothing but aesthetics. But then, if you recall the race to get to that, it was a very close thing. I remember watching the videos on youtube as different vids popped up each showing different approaches to multitouch. iPhone didn't invent it, they paid for it, just like Microsoft paid someone else to do the same thing, so did Google. iPhone got their first. Kind of like Germany and the US racing for the nuclear bomb in ww2, whoever gets there first wins. The thing is, because iPhone did get there first we get people like you saying everyone is copying them, which is hilarious. If you need I can look up all those old vids of multitouch advancements.

This 100%. Multitouch was not a revolutionary idea at all, it was just that Apple was the first to buy their way into a successful version.

Kind of like how they purchased Siri. For the past few weeks all I have heard from people is how Apple is genius for creating Siri.

The bought it.....lol

Android was being worked on at the same time ios was, google saw it and liked what they saw and bought Android's company.

Palm and Blackberry both had rows of square icons just like iphone.

I like what someone said about wow, wow didn't do anything that a game hadn't done before, they just took stuff from all the MMO's before it and put it in one game.

Apple did that with the iphone, other than the unlock gesture, they bought their multi touch technology, they bought siri, just like jobs said good artists steal ideas. There were app stores out for palm and windows smart phones, they were just not ran by palm or RIM. They kicked off an arms race of people improving their smartphones, no doubt about that. But let's not act like they invented all these features.
