Jobs didn't want Bluray players in Mac's because he believes streaming is the way to go and Bluray has some licensing issues he didn't want to deal with. It would increase the cost of the computer as well. Bluray is not going to replace the DVD. Streaming and Digital downloads are the way of the future. It would be hypocritical for him to think otherwise, since his iTunes based App Store has Music, Apps and streamable movie rentals.

Everyone is on the digital download "app store" thing these days. Steam's been doing it for years, now EA has Origin and even Microsoft is doing it with Windows 8.

I have a PS3 for Bluray's and no PC in my house has or needs a Bluray player as it's optical drive. No games are shipping on Bluray except for the PS3.

Look at the Android phones. They look like iPhones. Slate look, touch screen, little square icons in rows, etc. It's a total rip off. No phone looked or acted like that before the iPhone.

Not bad for a phone that came out several months before the iPhone.

My pc has bluray and love it. XBMC >>>> streaming for my action movies. Maybe if they sent less compressed crap, but then again who has bandwidth for that + the caps to not pay an arm and a leg to your ISP. Would love to see 4k movies over 3d, but both those have more bandwidth requirements. Streaming will have its place, but never a full replacement for physical media at the rate things are going.

Majority of what is in iphone is prior art. Apple just patented slide to unlock. Its been around for years prior to apple doing it. Just one example of what is wrong with patent system. Hell apple was built on stealing interface ideas from xerox. The whole thing is comical if it was not so sad.

Yep. It would be like J.K.Rowling claiming to invent the "boy growing up to be a wizard destined to fight bad guy" archetype.

Digital distribution will never take over as long as ISP's have data caps on our internet connections. No doubt it's very popular right now, but so is red box.

Samsung had a phone like the iphon back in the early 2000's, it had no physical key board. My old boss had it on sprint.

What does it feel like to be this wrong about something? Just curious.

True, I was just demonstrating that the iPhone is in no way an original concept, and I only needed 1 phone to do that I'm sure there are quite a few others.
