The thought of buying the game crossed my mind today.. That is until I saw it was 80$. At that price there should be 2 free months..

Would the game be worth buying?

It looked like a nice game. Seemed polished, ran great, looked good. The voice dialog helped me follow the story line and quests (since I usually wont' take the time to read it myself).

My problem is it's super linear and I don't like that in MMOs and the PvP was pretty crappy (from my limited experience in the Warfronts).

If the game was much cheaper, I'd probably subscribe to it a few months. But no way am I paying $80 for a subscription game (at least not again after I did that with Warhammer Online, haha).

It's worth it to run through it once as a single player RPG. Whether it offers you more than that is a matter of playstyle and taste.

As for the price, Amazon has it for $60.

Just depends. I got into beta and didn't last long. More of the same with Star Wars skins.
MMO's just aren't doing anything new. Hopefully someone will come along and break the current mold for MMOS

Guild Wars 2 seems like it may be heading down that path, I hope it will go into beta soon so we can hear more about it from the general public.

Currently in the MMO unemployment line.
Can I get $15/month for not playing them?

Indeed. All the hype sounds amazing, I can only hope that the hype is real.

SWTOR is 60 bucks. There are 3 different versions of SWTOR $60 (nothing special in it), $80 (special in game items), collector edition.

I didn't play in SWTOR beta, but I did buy the game. As of right now the game seems decent, there really isn't anything special about the game that I could say makes this game awesome or unique, it just seems like another MMO with a star wars environment. I am only lvl 22 right now, so I don't have a lot of experience with the game.

saw it for $55 at the game store yesterday and no it is not worth it. i only played the beta but it was not very exciting. i think its gonna wither after the first month like all the other recent mmos, tho it will probably retain a bit more than the others.

Provided you don't outright hate it and play it for more than 20-30 hours, then it is "worth" the entertainment dollar.

What you are really asking for is if we can tell you that you will like the game and the answer is, we can't. It is a MMO and MMO's are too complex for one person to really give a good opinion to another. There are people that still play Ultima Online for example.

For my 2 cents, I think the game is "good" but will it have staying power? No idea. I don't want to get into the 20's and then get bored and quit but I don't know what the case will be.

I would ignore the people who say it sucks or say it is the best game ever.

As for Guild Wars 2, well, my opinion on GW2 is the same is is with everything:
Prove it.

It seems every new game coming out is "going to kick ass" and few ever do. GW1 was not my style of MMO so they have a LOT to prove to me with GW2.

I survived to the end and got nothing out of it, but hey.
