Actually he was a practicing physician while these newsletters were being released. It wasn't a social issue newsletter. It was supposed to be focused on hard money issues. Eric Dondero caused contraversy in the past with other Paul staffers because he had said racist things and it was said that Ron Paul had yelled at him for misrepresenting him on some issues. This is why Eric was fired. But of course people weak of mind will focus on these newsletters rather than 13 terms of voting records, house floor speeches, thousands of interviews, 6 books and a solid platform based on invidual rights rather than collectivism.
A fun fact is that Ron Paul gets more support from minorities than the other GOP candidates and he is the only candidate against the racist drug war. The issue of these newsletters was resolved a long time ago. The only reason they are being rehashed is because the establishment and media elitists have nothing else. The Ron Paul haters are just pathetic tools pretending this is an issue rather than his consistent voting record and stances on civil liberties.

I hate Ron Paul, but all of this stuff circulating right now screams 'Karl Rove'.
That's odd... Karl Rove didn't sign that shill-sheet.
Ron Paul did.

He had created the newsletter so that people could discuss hard money issues. He has admitted that he was busy with his physician practice (you know, delivering 4000 babies, some for free if the patients couldn't pay) so he had neglected being a better publisher. His fault was letting people like Lew Rockwell and other old school texans manage the editing of the letters. There were thousands of them though so it is absurd to say he agrees with everything said in every one of them.

If you believe his apologists, then you must also believe that a career politician was regularly and routinely letting others put out writings under his name and bearing his signature without his having first vetted, or at least glanced at, those writings.
If you believe his apologists, then Ron Paul is provably incompetent at running his own business(es), and has no business being President.
If you do not believe his apologists, then Ron Paul is proven by his own hand to be a dingbat of the first order, and has no business being President.

Paul's problem is that he forms opinions and publicizes them based on weak knowledge and whatever is on his radar that week. Go look up the interview fromt he late night talk show where he said he didn't know anything about economics so he read a book about it and now is a genius. Yes A book about it.
There's nothing particularly bad about Paul. He's just wrong about most things and thinks he's a lot smarter than he is. Over confidence in your own conclusions is one of the worst traits a leader can possess.

Weak knowledge? Do you even know who Ron Paul is? Even the pundits admit that he knows history. Do you even know what keynesianism is? Austrian economics? Non-Interventionism? Blowback? The law of unintended consequences? Free Markets? Civil Liberties? Legal Plunder? Property Rights are? Because Ron Paul has shown an extreme understanding on all these issues and has a voting record to back him.
The Paul haters are good examples of how our public education system has failed us.

He didn't write them. Even the pundits who have been trying to attack him on every issue for years admit he did not write them. He wasn't even the editor of the newsletter.
See this is why Ron Paul supporters crack me up. If Obama makes a speech and says something dumb and then someone says "oh it doesn't matter because he didn't write the speech and didn't read it until he...well...read it" everyone would laugh. But that is basically the argument they are earnestly making.
The guy put his name on it. I don't think anyone is really arguing it shows he espouses those views themselves. The point is it reflects poorly on him that he let his name be put on a publication like that.
It isn't the end of the world or anything. But Ron Paul supporters are so convinced their dude is the perfect messiah that even the smallest attack sends them into paroxysms of butthurt.

I agree it is a very small attack. How it is so newsworthy is the most puzzling thing about all of it

I don't watch stupid tv news so I haven't seen anything about it. It has legs here on the Outpost because the Ron Paul zombies here keep making fools of themselves instead of just admitting it reflects badly on his judgment and moving on.
