The guy is reaping what he sowed. He's an Internet tough guy who doesn't give two shits about anyone other than those who can elevate his own career. It's not so much the treatment of the original client that is damning, but his response to Mike once he became involved. That said, his fate is in the hands of a crowd something akin to Anonymous now, which is a pretty ugly place to be. I suppose the moral of the story is don't declare yourself the president of a social media organization if you don't have the people skills to pull it off.

And before you start throwing stones, watch out for that big window named Joel Poremba in your way.

Somewhere under that storm of righteous nerd fury was the contention that these units might actually help disabled kids play games. But that doesn't matter as much as pwning some dude because he's an asshole.

Consumers often feel powerless when dealing with uncaring corporations. I have said many times that the best weapon the little guy has is information. Because of this episode, consumers now have the information they need to know whether they want to deal with this corporation.

People treat each other like shit because they think they can get away with it without anyone finding out. This is a great reminder that those days are coming to an end. Any bad thing you do can get out to a million people. This will make smart people think twice about doing bad things.

That sentiment has been echoed a few times throughout this, even by the original purchaser who cc'ed Penny Arcade. N-Connect has fired Ocean Marketing and whoever was doing the ongoing updates stated that the manufacturers shouldn't be punished for this. Unfortunately the digital mob does not discriminate once it is mobilized. The poor Amazon reviews, while comical, are over the top, but I'm assuming they can be wiped once Amazon gets wise to what's going on.

It's sorta like all the best and worst parts of the internet rolled into one thread.

The developer may have a closer relationship to this Ocean Marketing guy than just being a business associate, too. They at least had another LLC set up together, but that doesn't mean much. At this point I don't think the legions of scorned Internet detectives are going to be able to sort fact from fiction regarding this.

Let's not forget this whole thing started because the company shipped preorders up to three months late after taking peoples money. The whole hiding behind handicapped kids thing is disgusting to.

On one hand, sucks for the company that made the product, who's pretty much forever associated with those marketing guys for better or worse.

On the other hand,

Wow. Talk about destroying a guy, a company and their lives!!
