Most drug laws are based on racism. Later they were based on political attacks. Nixon did the drug laws because he was attacking the counter culture who took alot of drugs. Dont know why Reagan went so hogwild about it but he was the governor of CA during the Sixties so his reasons mightve been the same as Nixons

That being said pot should be legal and taxed like alcohol is

If christianity was against the law we still would not stop. Like the apostle Paul, even in jail proclaim the name of the Lord even unto death. Of course we cannot and will not accept it.

No one on this earth is a good person according to gods standards.

60 million pot smokers in the US probably feel similarly.

There are greater than 4 times as many people in the US that smoke Pot than there are Jews in the entire world.

Interesting perspective...

I dont doubt. But I would say there are also the same if not more that dont still. Its going to take a few more years. It will be legal rest assured. People trip way too much. Its not like the cops seriously go around busting every pot head out there. I know cause I sold it for 4 or 5 years making money only when I needed it, never got greedy and never had a problem hooking people up. It was just a social thing when I did it, I didnt care about the money unless I needed some at the time. Cops only care if you mass sell or sell to kids or next to schools and I'm against all 3 of those. I just sold to a few people that got it often and were friends. Not just random pot heads searching.

Yeah, and you thought you were a bad person back then.

I don't think I am a bad person. I don't think recreational use of drugs is immoral, and I don't think it should be illegal so long as they are used responsibly.

I don't think protecting profit justifies the harm it does to other wise innocent people's lives.

That's really why pot is illegal. Too many people in powerful positions stand to lose too much if it isn't.

The pharmaceutical industry doesn't want it legalized because they stand to lose money if it is. The prison industry doesn't want it legalized.

The people who sell it, even legally as medical marijuana, don't want it legalized because it will drop the value of their products.

Cartels don't want it legalized, and as a result it is used as leverage for backroom dealings with law enforcement agencies in the U.S. who also don't want it legalized because it will reduce revenue because of the decrease is seized drug money.

The only people who stand to gain from it being legalized are the people who use it, and they'll do it anyway so who gives a fuck, right?

You are a bad person if the drugs or alcohol cause you to harm other people. The place this happens the most is on the road driving. Also if they cause you to physically harm others, lose your job, or steal its bad for you and society too

You're a bad person if you hurt other people period.

Sober or otherwise.

The laws concerning marijuana are harming far more people than they help.

Well like I said legal or not it really doesn't matter. If I was still smoking I'd smoke either way. The law wouldn't stop me then and if I wanted to, it wouldn't stop me now either. Wouldn't waste my time fighting an uphill battle for legality.
