The reboot was ridiculous and the only people that thought it was bad writing are total nerds who take Star Trek too seriously.

I still find building the ship on the ground offensive.

There is bad writing, and then there is offensively stupid writing.

It is stupid to even think of building massive starships on the freekin ground. It'd be like setting up your automotive plant on the bottom of the ocean. Sure, you can build an assembly line underwater and build cars, but it's stupidly inefficient and a thousand times more expensive.

I hated it too... Everything about it was bad abnd all the characters were just young copies of their adult personas. It was so dumb and unoriginal.

Look, I know this will come as a surprise and shock 'n' all, but Star Trek isn't exactly an educational series on modern physics and science.

So the bad guys go back in time, and instead of using that to their advantage to save Romulus in the past by telling the Romulans about Red Matter a couple hundred years early, or at the very least evacuating everyone off of the planet, they instead just roam aimlessly through space magically evading every single starship in the quadrant for three decades?

What a waste of time. I know that if I was thrown back in time IRL I'd just sit on a bench doing nothing for 30 years and being angry at something that technically hasn't happened yet instead of taking advantage of it.

This guy could have gone down in history as the man who saved the Romulan civilization, but no. Bleh, it was his fault that Romulus was destroyed.

Dumbass writing is dumbass writing.
