I hated the new reboot.
The premise, storyline, character reinvention.. Everything sucked, even the casting.
Kirk is way too clueless, Spock is an emo bastard and Checkov was a caricature of himself.

People love reboots, which is why that poorly written piece of crap was so popular. Casino Royale was popular for the same reason even though that was a crappy movie too.
The movie after Casino Royale bombed because the novelty wore off. If the next Star Trek is written as poorly as the first one, nostalgia and novelty won't save it like it did the first movie.
