this only exists because the record companies were behind the ball concerning digital versions of their products

the public obviously wanted it, so they went out and found a way to get it

the recording industry was too busy exploiting their labor to innovate. now they are paying for it

That is moronic Elo. People wanted free stuff. The fact that it is digital is inconsequential. In fact it has always been the law in the US that you could make a digital copy of your music for your own use.

If this was purely because itunes did not exist it would be getting less prevalent right?

Just admit you do it because you would rather steal than pay. I don't think that's a unique human trait.

The labels tried to force the same model onto the internet that they had been using for years and it failed miserably.

They're trying to go against the flow.

This leaves room for those who are innovative to get in the game. Just look at things like Pandora and Spotify etc.

If we could convert rationalization into energy, Sweden could power all of Europe using nothing but their explanations for why file sharing isn't actually stealing.

You can let your tongue slither around inside the asses of your corporate overlords all you want Paul, does not change the fact that if you copy something it's not theft..

File sharing is if anything the people against the power and it's here to stay. It's our right to share information no matter what the information is.. On one side you have a multitude of people a majority if you will and on the other side you have the enriched elites and the politicians they buy.

So I'm going to stand on the side of freedom of information and a free internet, keep on pandering to your betters like the dog you are.

I haven't pirated anything (other than currently airing anime) since college. I buy most of my games through steam and many of the games that aren't available through this are typically mmo's.

I am still for this because I hate the AA's and their pushing of things like sopa which is so over the top it's not funny

Why pirate games when you can just buy digital copies from Russia and safe 90% of the price...all legal!

I paid 14$ for my legit copy of Skyrim
