We have a libertarian who thinks it is ok to take other peoples money and pay someone else to not have kids.
We have another who thinks that poor people should educate themselves and get high paying jobs. If the education is done through college they are looking at what, $20,000 a year? Where is a poor person going to get $20,000 a year? Student loans? And then, when they graduate with honors and are working at McDonald's because all the decent jobs are else where, what then? They will end up poorer.
Or maybe you are saying they should go to the library and educate themselves that way so they can apply for a job as an electrical engineer because they learned how to from the book, "Become and engineer in 28 days." or "Electrical Engineering for Dummies (and poor people)".
Our system is designed to have a large amount of poor people at the bottom. It keeps the schlubs like us busting our asses for nothing so we don't end up like that. We constantly produce more for less so we aren't the dude making $11,000 a year trying to support 3 kids.
Maybe we should stop looking at the group of people who are using the system and start looking at the parts of the systems that are leaching off of certain groups of people.
Sorry, I forgot you drank the kool-aid from the very people who are screwing us all.
