It is very hard to find talented people to work for the government. It is no surprise that politicians have to pull from private enterprise. Especially for the positions chosen you really need people who understand how to dig through a massive budget.
The head of the budget office is a very big job.

Last election I voted for Bob Barr. Ya, I knew he didn't have a chance but at least I wasn't voting for Obama or McCain.
Voting for Obama is voting for DC insiderism, just like a vote for Romney would be.
/that's how the cow ate the cabbage.
Claiming that he's the lesser of two evils when he sucks so bad is just using a partisan excuse to vote for "your guy".
