The South were evil oppressors and needed to be destroyed. Everything about their cause was backward and wrong, and like al evil it was eventually destroyed and things put right by the protectors of truth, freedom, and the american way.

Only by a ridiculed minority of abolitionists at the time. The North had no issues with slavery other than its expansion westward becuase of the unfair advantage of the 3/5ths clause and bercuase of the potential job loss should slavery be allowed to move west. Many northern states prohibited blacks from taking residence there becuase of the the inherent bigotry of Americans both in the North and South to blacks as well as the threat of job loss due to the cheap labor the blacks represented.
