At a weekend meeting at a ranch outside Houston, the group of 150 conservatives who had joined forces agreed on the third ballot to support the former Pennsylvania senator. Former House of Representatives Speaker Newt Gingrich came in second.
They had not been expected to reach agreement on one candidate since evangelical support has been splintered among Santorum, Gingrich and Texas Governor Rick Perry.
"There is clearly a united group here that is committed to see ... a true conservative elected to the White House," said Tony Perkins, leader of the Family Research Council and spokesman for the group.
But don't Evangelicals not consider Catholics to be real Christians just like they do with Mormons?

That is pretty telling about the Evangelical bias against Mormons, because they do generally despise papists. I guess they'll take whatever flavor of religious crazy they can get.

You know nothing about Christianity Walker. They look and sound like Christians but for them the book of Mormon trumps the Bible.
They are like what Islam is to Christianity and Judaism. They all use the same base religious documents but they are clearly separate religions because they have secondary material which comes later than the original material and defines them as different and separate.
