The men acted like idiots - but I don't understand the outrage that sometimes men act like idiots in war. It's like people are discovering for the first time that war leads to idiotic actions. What the men did was wrong, and they need to answer for it; however, people need to chill on the frothing outrage.

I was shocked that they talked Court Martial. That is simple posing.
A good hard slap on the wrist, or penis in this case, is what is called for. Something real that sticks to the record but nothing major.
They are guilty of being classless morons, nothing more and nothing less.
Save Court Martials for the vermin who rape and kill innocents.
Or taitors like Bradley Manning.

Thousands of Iraqi civilians have died.
These are people who weren't combatants, and no one is crying for them.
Active enemy combatants died and get pissed on and suddenly people are decrying the loss of American values.
We have indeed become a warped people.

I think it's funny. Almost all of my friends are ex military. Several of them are marines. And most of my family served.
Out of all of my military friends and family, I, the one with no military history, am the only one that doesn't want them flogged to death.
