Not everyone is an idiot that doesn't care about or who fails to understand how modern methods are used to cross correlate and compile information. If your data is valueless to you, that is your business. Your lack of attention to detail and stupid responses like "who cares" demonstrates your general ineptitude. If you want to live that way fine, it isn't fine for others who understand and resent their personal information being collected surreptitiously and sold without consent.
As I said, the only information they can access is what you allow them to.
Personally I'm not ashamed of who I am, but I can appreciate some in this thread wanting to hide themselves from the world.
Edit: quit talking about your stupid precursor "outfit." No one here knows what your talking about because you haven't even named it. The topic is facebook.

What contact list are you referring to? I've already explained that facebook users cannot update, add, remove, or further manipulate your information.
The exception to this is relationships, but again you need to give your consent for the update to go though.

Holy crap. A lot of what I read here every day makes sense now. Many of you are boring asshats who take yourself way to seriously. Facebook is fun. Hell, even my Jack Russel and English pointer have facebook pages with hundreds of friends.
Relax. Enjoy life. It is more pleasant without the giant pole up your ass. And silly goofy fun is just what life needs every once in a while.
I recommendation the tetris battles on facebook.

i quit facebook for 2 reasons:
- family trying to guilt me into friending boring and/or terrible other family and getting butthurt when i didn't
- when i realized that people i once liked and respected are just as vapid and dipshitty as everyone else on facebook

I wasn't specifically referring to FB in my explanation. I was referring to a historical case of a company that took information that you had no control over. This particular data collection model has actually been around for a very long time, long before computers were created.
You are free to put your faith in FB or others, I don't, based on history, no matter what they or others claim for how their model works.
