Pago ( Italian for I pay). Man I dont do anything on my car. Here fix it. I trust my auto mechanic.

Me and my work buddy fixed my thermostat(mostly him) and we worked on it for three hours total. If we were working for the man we would have billed lots of money for that time. BUT I have zero trust in any mechanic. not that there aren't great and honest ones out there, but I think they are a rarity. If I found one, I would gladly pay to have them fix my ride every time.

if you ever want to know anything about automotive computer systems, feel free to ask. i dont mind giving out advice.
i can also tell you that there is NO fix that will cost you under 10 bucks if it turns on a check engine light.
unless you put gas in the car while it was running and triggered an evap code, p0442(?), then youre not getting a computer repair for under 50 bucks.

A simple vacuum leak will throw codes. Plug the errant hose back in and it's fixed. Cost $0.

That's something I've read about as well. Apparently is very commonly behind it.

If you want something that will read codes as well as let you access your computer gauges, check this out.

http://www.ultra-gauge.com/ultragauge/index.htm

Pretty much identical to the ScanGauge except its $70 instead of $150.

Lot of handy gauges that you can configure.

That's pretty cool.

There's also one that is a bluetooth enabled connection to your computer. You can then access it through an app on any Android device. I'm not sure if it shows gauges - but just that alone is kind of neat.

why would you need to see the gauges?
arent they already on your dash?

unless youre going to drop $8k for the snapon or OTC scan tools
then just get the $20 one from amazon.
all of you wouldnt know what to do with a real scan tool anyway

lol. thats like saying that given a few simple commands of c++ you could write a video game.

besides, its not my job anymore.
if you think you can handle it, go for it.

i dont think your smart enough and i know you lack the proper knowledge to be able to get it done properly.
but go for it, have fun.
