This sounds like a typical republican jobs program, but it also could make a sitting POTUS looks stronger.
If I was Iran I wouldn't mess around this year. We will break their toys! Even if we have to borrow a few more trillion to do it.

Again, closing the strait is not on the menu for Iran. China gets it's oil from that strait and you don't want a energy starving China pointing it's finger at you... unless you have another Superpower in your pocket.
