The point would be it's just nationalistic nonsense that has nothing to do with the game.

Might as well play the anthem before you take a test or before you turn on your xbox.

I like it when our national anthem is done the way it was written. It was simple and nice.

I don't think they were booing her..lol

Our national anthem is a bargirl song.

I can't decide if that makes it better or worse than the typical crap used for national anthems.

Worst I've ever seen was someone who had the anthem as their cell phone ring tone. WTF, talk about classless.

It's a national song meant to take a moment to feel national pride before national and local sporting events. Sure, it has nothing to do with the National Pastime(s) or a large gathering of Americans. It has nothing to do with taking a moment to acknowledge and honor the freedoms and lifestyle we enjoy, or the men and women who fought and died to give them to us.

Do you whine about international soccer matches too? Don't they play both anthems there? Or do you only get your panties in a wad when Americans do it?

Your problem is with national pride.

Emphasis on "our problem."

Sometimes you're just an intellectual poser selling himself bullshit to bolster your self image. This is one of those times.

If you had actually bothered to read what I said I said it at least makes some sense before international fixtures.

But you're the badger. It would be silly to expect you to actually read what someone says before attacking them for it.

Apparently I don't have to read all your posts to know what you will say. The fact that you don't have a problem when Europeans and non Americans do it does not surprise me in the least. In fact, I stated that this was probably the case not realizing you'd already confirmed your hypocrisy.

Your contention is that it's war based and inappropriate....

When Americans do it.

It has nothing to do with who's doing it. They don't play the national anthem before club fixtures in Europe. If they did it would be equally stupid as what Americans do.

If you're having an international baseball match between the U.S. and Japan go for it if you want to play the anthems. I can understand the sense of that.

Basically your argument boils down to "Europeans arn't as dumb as we are on this point and that makes you biased against Americans!"
