If anything about the National Anthem should have been booed yesterday it was Steven Tyler. My God, man. Anyone else singing like that would have been laughed off stage while fleeing a barrage of flying vegetables.

Wrong, at least for baseball, they played the star spangled banner during the 1918 World Series as a tribute to all the military personnel in attendance. They played it at every World Series from that year on and at every season opener. This was all done before it even became recognized as our national anthem by congress in 1931.

The anthem is played before competitive events to remind everyone that we are all Americans and on the same team.
I approve of the pledge being played.
I also think we should somehow find a way to have it automatically played thru people's PC speakers everytime they make a political post.
It would both remind partisans that we are all on teh same team, and would cut down on overall politics posts by 75+%
