I'm overstating things a lot of course, I see Yuki's point. It's dumb but it's not that hard to grasp.
Either is the fact that nationalism isn't inherently bad, or that honoring the nation and our pride does indeed belong in a sporting event.
I still feel that in his case it's more of an intellectual conceit than an actual argument.

I dunno where you get that from. It's never in any of the european sport broadcasts. I've certainly never seen it in Japan.
Except for international fixtures, when they play the anthems of both nations competing. Which makes more sense for obvious reasons.
What countries are you talking about? Crapistan and Venezuela?

Well, maybe I am wrong then. I honestly thought they did.
Americans are very patriotic. We love our country. Implants don't respect us, but they want to live here because it is one of the best nations in the world.
We will not change playing our national anthem just because implants don't get or respect it.
It's cool ..just toon in after that..or if you go to a live game, excuse yourself for a few moments. We don't mind.
