What is YOUR suggestion for the US as an alternative?
Come on, I can't WAIT to hear this.
Please make sure that it is a "real" system.
Oh, and it would be nice if this system allowed for individual freedom, property ownership, and the like.

Capitalism isn't good or evil. It's amoral. It's a system that has advantages and disadvantages.

capitalism is great. It just has serious downsides that the stupid have turned into religious devotees of. The problem isn't capitalism it's stupid.

I am glad you asked because we already have a great example of a system that worked for decades before the Reagan Revolution: well regulated capitalism, a strong labor movement, and better controls on wealth accumulation.

Society has a pecking order.
I don't think it's possible to design a system that is equally beneficial to everyone.
Whatever system the people will tolerate will have to suffice.
