If we'd just legalize the drugs and institute an actually sane immigration policy there would be no issue.
The problem is that we already have way too many legal immigrants without even addressing the illegal ones.
Look at the numbers.

I disagree, we are a nation of immigrants, too many of them is an arbitrary number that is ridiculous in it's assumptions.

Tell me, what is your plan to fix Mexico's economy?
Fix Mexico's economy?
Umm, you are a citizen of what country again?
since you're too obtuse to figure out what he's saying... One of the biggest reasons for illegals is looking for work. So if you are looking to identify one of the root causes of this you need to figure out how to fix the Mexican economy so that they have incentive to stay where they are.
The drug traffic is more back and forth the few that stay for drug traffic do so to sell but that is a low % compared to those coming here for work.
I'm obtuse? Last time I looked over 45 million Americans were getting welfare benefits and you people are talking about fixing the Mexican economy?
Wow

No sir, it is not an arbitrary number. There is a finite amount of resources. You can not indefinitely add numbers and not suffer consequences to the resources.

It will make the resources where they come from cheaper.

Wow
Yes you're obtuse. No where in here did anyone say that we should prioritize fixing the Mexican economy over our own, or that we should be financially responsible for doing so. The point is, illegals come here to work for wages Americans won't but those wages are still WAY better then what they get in Mexico in many instances. So if you're looking to stop the illegal immigration you have to understand the reason for them doing so and then address that reason appropriately.

I am with Loon on this. We can take in so many more immigrants. We ARE a nation of immigrant and don't you forget it. Immigrants are what make us special over other countries. They bring in new ideas and new ways of doing things.
Some of you are an embarrassment to what this country is all about.

we do take in a ton of immigrants.
there are legal channels to follow.
mexicans even get special treatment in those channels.
nobody is against immigration, just illegal invasion.
why do you hate the law?

For those of you claiming that the legal immigration process is fine, I would encourage you to participate in it. If not directly, agree to help someone through the process.
You'd be pretty shocked at how 'fine' it is.
