the term "global economy" is a buzz word used by the rich to mask their need for slave labor to increase profits.

the "global economy" either needs to realise that the rich wont always be as rich because the slaves have rights too
or just get the fuck on with it and enact slavery laws to enslave the masses of cheap laborers.

I'd like to see a person here who could start up a business that would compete with the Chinese. Of course they'll have to do that with US wages, not the $0.31/hr the Chinese workers get. Oh, they'll have to do it with all the other little blessings that come with it here (corporate taxes, which if you're a small company with small capital could be an adventure) as well as all the healthcare loops, etc.

Yup, they can anally rape poor people in other countries for profit because hey it's a global economy, but I can't even buy uncut or cheaper US games on Steam and have to buy some higher priced Euro market version because well the global economy isn't supposed to benefit ordinary people.

Jobs being shipped out of the country, jobs taken by illegal aliens is there really a difference?

There is a difference, minor as it may be... Illegal Aliens taking jobs here still keeps money here. Jobs being shipped overseas ships money overseas.

Minor difference but over time and accumulative it makes a big difference.

Im sure ill piss off some liberals saying this, but the corporate tax rate being 35% isnt helping the US maintain a mfg base in this country.

Taxes arn't the reason manufacturing is struggling.

But I actually agree that high corporate taxes are not such a great thing.

You shouldn't allow rich to take money to another countries

Short term, they'll get more profit, long term, if you don't
use few hundred nukes on China, India etc, they'll surpass
you with technology they got because you were greedy

How much lower? You realize that almost no companies actually pay 35% and that most pay a much lower effective rate, right?

The US should base their corporate tax code off of what other countries(that are similar to the US) are doing. The corporate tax code should change not only the rates but the base. Right now we are trying to tax the production side instead of the consumption side which hurts labor.

Combine this with increasing capital gains taxes and you have a change that really helps US production IMO.

Pretty dramatic one.

If the gov't decided tomorrow that nobody named Bob could be an American citizen....would we suddenly become poorer and face a job shortage because of all the Bob's working in the US?

Contrast that with...

If the gov't decided tomorrow that all the jobs held by Bob's around the country would be moved to India...and now you have alot of Bob's out of work pushing down wages for all the non-Bob workers.
