I would say the global (blah blah) is the issue. We cant fix the US let alone any other country. We need to start with us before try to fix any other country.

Im sure ill piss off some liberals saying this, but the corporate tax rate being 35% isnt helping the US maintain a mfg base in this country. It needs to be lowered. As someone who works in an industry that outsources work to China, I can tell you that it isnt that much cheaper to business in China than it is here. And with the quality problems we have with their products, all my company would need to bring the work back to the US is an incentive that would make them more money by keeping it here.

Our current trade situation makes no sense to me. I don't see how the status quo is really the position of either party but still nothing happens.
There is more than politics getting in the way from improving our trade situation.
Also the problem is not trade or even jobs leaving. The problem is that trade heavily relies on a give and take in terms of the demand for US production. So the real problem is not the US importing good but the US having a trade imbalance. This is why China is such a problem. The trade imbalance is massive and it is a direct result of a foreign nation making choices about the US economy.
