WTF? Ridiculous no? Kills the method of beating a game and e-baying that copy for 60-80% of purchase price. It was better than only getting 5-15% from GameStop/other stores.

it would be nice if game devs sold boxes for like $40 and tried to release awesome DLC on down the line
with used games, they would have 2+ people potentially interested in the DLC
but no, they need to release a new Madden every single goddamn year

It likely matters little as digital formats are going to become the norm for games anyhow. But yeah, this is just a step on the way there.

Microsoft should strive to be the conduit for buyers and sellers of used X-Box games, rather than a road block. Then they can get a cut of the money as well as giving some to the developer.

It's ridiculous. I had to activate a code for Assassins Creed Revelations to play online. I won't be buying games from that company again, uPlay, which sucks because I was a pretty loyal customer. I bought every single title of Assassins Creed. And highly recommended the stores to every gamer I've talked to. I refuse to be charged twice though (yeah yeah, it was free if the game was new, but I already pay microsoft for online play).

They are eliminating one of the remaining reasons to play a console vs the PC.
Next thing you know, they will be requiring you to pay for a separate license for every additional player on Madden on your console.

I have a horrible confession. I bought a ladder from Home Depot because I needed to paint a room in my house. After I finished painting I really didn't have a need for the ladder anymore. Turns out my neighbor also needed to paint a room in his house and offered me $20 for the ladder I bought and no longer needed.
The temptation to sin was just too much, I sold him the ladder.... I'm racked with guilt by this, I stole revenue from the poor ladder manufacturers and I hope to redeem myself. 
So tomorrow I'm going to drive around town and personally shut down black market used good sales. Little old ladies call them "garage sales" but we know the truth, they are just fronts for their criminal enterprises.
