Your pie in the sky, rose colored glasses perspective is the party line of course, but it's not reality. Reality is that cultural diversity can be problematic (and can also be a boon) when it comes to uniting a nation. I am not making excuses for the lack of cohesion, I'm simply explaining to you the truth of the matter.
People are not machines. People have emotions and sometimes irrational fears and concerns. That's just the way people are, people EVERYWHERE are this way, not just in the US, but around the globe. Cultural diversity has the potential to provide a net benefit overall to the nation, but such benefit is presently being hindered by this universal human trait which is to be wary of that which is different.

Your capacity to follow the conversation is pathetic.
What you are pointing to is not cultural diversity by itself. You are pointing to a history of using racial diversity, cultural diversity, and class diversity as an excuse to screw over certain segments of the population. The US has that history and any attempt to overcome that history is the hurdle, not simply the presence of cultural diversity.
Failing to understand the difference between blaming cultural diversity and blaming our history is why you blame the victim and why you are a stupid racist.
You also act like this is a hurdle to using a system like the European countries listed. Now you can call this hurdle anything you want or blame whoever you want but the fact reamains that the economic systems being discussed are built to address these issues by addressing class issues which perpetuate past mistakes. This "hurdle" as you put it is a reason to use these systems not an excusse to not use them.
I hope it isn't lost on your that Hitler agrees with you. Guess where he was from? Germany.

131 million people disagree with you, as for diversity that's by itself that's 6 different languages, cultures within these nations is a lot of cultural diversity say compare NuEM to someone from Bavaria or a Northerner like me to someone from Gothenburg, different dialects and different mentalities, lets not forget immigrants we do have a lot of them too.
