If it were me, I would make her life every bit as hard as she made it out to be for a couple weeks then let her know why I had.

The video was fine. Taking her ego down a notch is perfect, as that was the entire goal of her rant to her friends.
Shooting the laptop was a bit overboard but it looked like Texas, so no biggie. I would prolly have stated that I was giving her laptop to the cleaning lady.
And then ask if any of his daughters friends were hot.

I really don't understand parents who are fine with publicly humiliating their kids. Particularly at an age where that will be especially painful for her (teenagers loathe to be different). I can't imagine that they will have a good relationship after this. Parents are supposed to be the adults and "above" that kind of stuff. You can teach a lesson without resorting to that.

Resorting to that was the lesson. She was acting like a raving bitch about her parents to her friends to act cool.
Her dad burst her bubble, and good. If she loses the insulation of her retarded friends that will be a positive step.
