Being forced to stare at a wall is a pretty harsh punishment. Every kid doesnt respond to being spanked. A very proud kid will stand up and say 'hit me again, i dont care' but will not want to be in a position where they are helpless. Stuck in the room, no moving, etc.. For a proud and defiant child, a mental punishment is probably more demeaning than a physical one.

different kids = different ways to discipline
It's not that difficult to understand. And popping a kid on the butt to get their attention is no big deal. lol the no-whipping club likes to act like everyone spanking a kid is getting Gitmo treatments or worse.
Some kids need, and will continue to need drugs their entire lives. It does seem the en vogue thing right now so there's probably overreaching on prescribing it.

You repeat how funny it is over and over like you're trying to convince yourself, shows a high level of agitation and aggression..
