Not being snarky here. Honestly, would you throw away a potential decades long income stream just to help some asshole you never met ...before he paid 250 bucks to talk to you for 5 minutes?

Ive never seen those drugs work - even with adults. Every person i know on anti depressants seems f'd up in some way.
Its possible there are some on them and they seem so great that as far as i know theyre not medicated..so im not ruling it out for all people.
I just know in my experience - if you see a Dr - 99 times out of a 100 the solution youre given is a prescription for drugs. I was diagnosed with anxiety disorder and asthma until i found a dr that figured out i had an allergy to certain foods. Ive cut out the foods and my life has changed. Im glad i never bought the simple diagnosis from most doctors i saw and refused their drugs. That may have quieted my allergy symptoms but they wouldve come at a cost to my health and pocketbook.
So your anecdotal experience is someone misdiagnosing you and you seeing people on medication being f-ed up?
Yeah, cause when I'm at the pharmacy, the only people I see buying cough medicine have coughs! God you're dumb.

do you get to strike other adults or adults you're related to when they do something stupid? The answer is no, because that would be assault.
Striking a child for whatever reason is assault, you can justify it all you want but you as an adult you do not have a right to assault your child no more then you have the right to strike a stranger, they have the same lawful rights as you do if not more since they can't defend themselves.. It also teaches your child that using violence is okay if someone does something you do not like, and I do not mean self defense.

He asked for my anecdotal experience and i gave it.
Look at ptilks comment.
And im sure if youve ever seen a dr, you will echo this experience
- wait in waiting room
- see dr , describe problem in 30 seconds
- get a quick look over
- dr walks out and back in with prescription
Done in about 10 minutes
Seems more like drug mills than healthcare.
Its the rare dr (and ive had it) that will try to "root cause" your problem, rather than give you meds until the problem goes away.

You dont even hit your pets. I bet you that parents who regularly spank their kids would be appalled at someone hitting a pet to get it to behave

When I got my drugs for my depression here was what happened
Talked to a primary care doctor
He had me talk to a medical student studying in school to be a shrink
She basically asked me about 10 questions
At the end of it I got drugs and I took them for a year

I was hit and hated it but i gave you two choices... In hindsight im glad my parents couldnt afford to take me to a dr whenever i challenged them. Id be classified as 'defiant' in todays lingo.
Your kid is out of control and ralking hasnt worked.
Hitting and shaming them works - tried and true method
Drugs work - their mood will change but long term thy might have to stay on drugs forever and will have to deal with the side effects with other meds
You can choose either one.

Not all kida are the same. No one method works for everyone. Some kids have special needs. Drugs can be used effectively in select cases.

You will get that same experience for anything
Acne- drugs
Back ache- drugs
Phlegm in back of throat-drugs
Any symptom - drugs.
Its a bit far fetched. Sometimes they should try treating the cause rather than the symptoms.

I was actually shocked at the system. I was shocked too that the state doesnt fund mental health doctors at all. If you are low income or on welfare the only mental health doctors you can get are primarty care physicians or students like I got.
All they do then is give you the drug that is their recent drug of choice. The reason I got that drug was because I think the drug company made them a special deal for it. The system is corrupt too

For the most part they don't make people great. When correctly prescribed they make people better than they otherwise would have been.

The fact that you don't have an actual disorder doesn't mean other people don't. Do you think people with schizophrenia maybe just have a food allergy? Do you think they would be better off if they just sucked it up and stopped being babies about it?
