Stupid people who are poor planners aren't paying for their own insurance anyways. We're giving it to them charitably. Giving charity through a for-profit middle man is a waste of money.
I've already said I was in favor of giving it away to them for free. Let's just cut out the middle men and mail birth control to poor women every month.

Design implies purpose.
How can you have purpose without intent?

Nature or evolution create constructs that clearly have a predictable cause and effect, and refines those constructs to increase the efficacy in reaching that effect, over time.
That may be the result of god, or intelligent design, or just evolutionary pressure. One of those three doesn't require intent or intelligence. But to deny the design itself is present is just being hard-headed IMO.

I won't deny that there is a form present, but I don't think there is a design to it unless there is also an intent behind it.
Existence is either a random form, or a purposeful design. From our perspective it is impossible to tell which case it is.

I (honestly) don't accept the premise that a design must be purposeful in the sense that a sentient being designed it with purpose. Other factors non-sentient or just semi-sentient can create and then refine a design... a la evolutionary pressures.
Therefore, we're at an impasse.

PS: That thinking is a little Buddhist, which is in fact honest because as I've admitted, I kindof 'swing that way' in my ethics.

Exactly.Bottom line: Insurance companies are businesses and in it for the profit. Helping people is just a mandatory chore for them on their way to riches.
