Why is birth control covered by insurance? |
Insurance is for unexpected bad things, not for routine expenses. Why add an extra middle man and a ton of paperwork? That just drives up the cost.
On top of that some insurance companies won't pay for certain brands of birth control. That lowers competition and drives up the price even further.
Stupid.

Pregnancy is a medical condition. It can even kill you and it can certainly dramatically impact the quality of your life.
In that, it is just like any other preventable medical condition that people routinely take medication to prevent. To single it out as somehow different than them isn't something you can do based upon reality or logic....only mysticism or sexism.
