The traditional media are used to their own brand of agit prop, aimed at urban liberal types. It was genteel, sophisticated but it was still agitprop and those who stood outside that belief system could see it for what it was. Shit in a silk stocking is still shit. However, they left a large void and plugged their ears and pretended this void did not exist.
Fox news is successful because they filled this void. They filled it with garbage, but garbage fills a void just as well as gold does. The only difference between Fox and CNN is that fox is less subtle and more blatant about their bias.
No not really.
There is a large difference between systematically manipulating people and being biased in the news. If anything CNN ignores a lot of the same BS that Fox ignores and is biased in favor of conservative ideals.
A lot of media that the right consideres leftist is actually a mix of left and right bias. Left wing bias at the individual level but right wing bias at the corporate level.

As is already noted many times in this thread - Fox is simply better at their propaganda...
Lets not forget Foxnews/Rupert Murdoch has had to shut down British operations because of their methods, they aren't allowed into Canada for blatant lying. Their methods are well known and documented...

I'm all for these groups that monitor media messages. So what if they target Fox, it just keeps fox in line. Would you rather have Fox just say whatever they wanted? And if you're Fox what could you be complaining about, that you can't lie? We all win when people wacth the media. If you think someone should be fact checking the other networks (and they do), I'm all for it.

I don't think it's right they go after anyone's personal lives. If they want to go after the network themselves then they should as long as it's legal.
I never knew about Media Matter's bias until a few months ago. I always thought they were non partisan. Truth is they aren't.
