Unless you spend money on gold, you can't transfer xp between tanks. But at least as long as you still have things to unlocks on your crappy tank, it can still be worthwhile to play them. Especially at least playing each tank once a day to get the double xp bonus. It also can help if the crappy tank has unlocks that the better tank uses as well. May as well unlock the gear with the tank you are currently more comfortable fighting in.

No,keep advancing alot of the better tanks are just easier to play and you can always go back and play the lower tiered fights.

This gun cost about 1000creds a shot...if I didn't play premium I would just break even on fights frequently.

I always try to spend at least a little on free games that I play alot.
I got a months worth of premium its 50% more credits and exp per game...so it just helps you move up much faster.

I'm not too sure which heavy to stop at, I am thinking maybe the T29. The only tank I really wanna max tier is my arty

Well it makes sense to experiment and get a feel for which modules are critical for which tank, if nothing else. Plus while you're doing that you'll earn credits.
IMHO just grinding and barely upgrading tanks to "push" to a certain vechile leaves you playing with pretty bad vechiles, since many of the tanks are shoddy in stock and near stock configurations.

Remember, events like this start at 5am and end at 5am (or something like that).
Daily doubles reset at 7pm.
So if you did your double on Friday night, you'll only get your 5x bonus on Saturday Night.
If you wait until after 5am, you can get two 5x bonuses games per tank.

I just found a skin that put dots where you have to hit tanks to get criticals and weak spots...sigh...that explains alot.(and its a legal skin)

Yeah thats a reticule setting. I thought I posted about that? Maybe a different thread then.
The penetration reticule is a game changer. Absolutely shows when you have a clear shot, and will dramatically cut down the number of times your rounds bounce.

It's useless once you get to be a proficient player.
By the time I saw it I knew well over half of those weak spots.
But sure, it'll get some noobs up to speed!
PS. It's only "legal" cause they don't have a way of allowing skinning, but banning specific skins only, obviously the devs aren't happy about it.
Though the whole skinning system is getting a revamp with the addition of purchaceable "camo" skins and such.
