You know, you might just want to consider it as a new experience. Taking a kid somewhere can actually be fun, in and of itself, and, since you have no responsibilities towards it, you can just completely relax and enjoy the time. Don't over think it, just give it a try.

Too late. I told her I dont most people thought that it as totally unacceptable for a first date and I told her I dont want anything to do with her. She also lives in Oak Harbor a very long ways away. No way will I drive or take the ferry to Widbey Island to go through that experience with her

This isn't a war, you know. She asked about bringing the kid. You have the option of saying yes, if you think it's an okay thing or of saying no, if you don't think it's an okay thing. Why treat it like an attack you have to counter?

I'm guessing that she doesn't have family nearby so it becomes a hassle to hire a babysitter for every one-off match coffee date she goes on.

The first thing that came to my mind was, she must be nuts.
Why on earth would any Mommy bring a child on a date with a man she has never met?
That is not only dumb..it could be dangerous for the kid.
Any woman that is serious about dating someone and getting to know them would never consider that unless she has some screws loose..that is no way to snag a man. lol.

I agree with Yuki she wants a man that wants a ready made family.If you don't want to spend time with her and her kid your not the right person for her...move on.
