What is up with kids these days???

I graduated in 1994.

We used to settle disputes via fighting, suspensions were no big deal, my foster father would make us do yard work/landscaping during that time. His property looked great as my foster brothers and I never liked the rich kids. They were scared of us.

Eventually boxing and football became a great outlet for us.

But GUNS/WEAPONS to a school dispute???

Always stupid.

I guess I belong to a different generation.

I blame Donnie Darko.

Yes it always comes down to some girlfriend-less misfit who couldn't make the football team getting upset while watching donnie darko and playing video games.

You think you are tough go play a contact sport or join the military.

You want to go kill people and get away with it, become a cop.

Geez.

Life is not that hard people.

Shootings back then were relegated to inner city, as far as I remember, but I had left those situations by the time I was 14, thankfully.

Dennis-Yarmouth was a rather peaceful school on Cape Cod. It was easy to be a fighter/jock there. It wasn't like it was Brockton or anything.

The only big shooting I can remember was Columbine.

and it's involvement with Donnie Darko.

Bringing weapons to school is a sign of cowardice, any attempt to bring them only shows that person lost whatever moral ground they thought they had.

I hope that kid gets the justice he deserves.

Police say the boy wasn't a jock.

Thats the problem right there.

I wasn't the brightest bulb, but was smart enough to know that sports was a great outlet and attracted girls too.

Kids these days want to be tough guys but are too lazy to play football, hockey or other contact sports.

At least we are good at something. We have had more people killed in school shooting than every other country listed in that article combined.

WTF is wrong with us as a country when we see stats like this? Are we really that great of a country when we can claim that our country alone has more students shooting each other than all the rest of the countries in the world COMBINED?

It's everywhere, not just Ohio. There was just one in Texas a couple days ago.

Different world these days.

It isn't even that it is a different world. It is just US. These things are so infrequent everywhere else it seems. You know, we are the greatest country in the world or to ever exist, depending on what politician you are referring to, yet we have 3rd world crime rates and health care, and we ARE the 3rd world leader in school shootings!
