And yet those things are all Santorum is talking about and he's gaining momentum. Crazysauce.
If Americans just start living a more Godly lifestyle, God would stop punishing the country and fix the economy for us.

He is only gaining momentum in the republican primary. He'll NEVER get independents and moderates. It'll never happen.
I saw somewhere polls showing santorum only losing by a few points to obama. So I'm not sure that's true. Although at this point it may just be that they don't know anything about him so he's just a generic "not-Obama."

I've been to oregon - you can pump your own gas.
Self-serve is illegal in Oregon. That law gets bent for motorcycles fairly often, but the attendant still hands you the nozzle.

President Barack Obama holds double digit leads over the top two GOP presidential candidates, according to a new national survey.
A Politico/George Washington University Battleground Poll released Monday indicates Obama topping former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney 53% to 43% in a hypothetical general election matchup, with the president leading former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania 53% to 42%.

Each Party starts out with about 45% of the vote. All the campaigning and money and discussions and the state of the country is all about the 10%.
Obama is the incumbent. That gives him a platform that is probably worth around 2%. The economy sucks. That should cost him 2-4%. Liberals are lukewarm about him. Probably costs him another % or so, especially amongst young folks. He does have a great campaign organization and he is an excellent campaigner, so, that probably gains him a couple %. So, all things being equal, we'd expect him to get right around 47% of the vote and lose in a landslide. That's why, back when they were running them, polls with "generic Republican" as a choice, were showing that candidate doing very well against Obama.
But, the Republican field is so pathetic and has moved so far to the right that Obama is almost a lock to get re-elected. He might well win with the biggest landslide in decades.
I think Rush and his ilk should get the most credit for Obama's second term. Thank you, boys!

The 1%'ers (as they have been coined) can play a lot of havoc on the economy during the run up to this election in any number of ways. They are sitting on piles and piles of free cash, so it's not like they don't have the money to toss around...

I think something like 50% of the money to the collective GOP PACs are from like 5 people. Imagine how much different the GOP race could be if Gingrich and Santorum had to drop out months ago because their billionaire backers were limited in how much they could contribute. It would also affect Romney too as he is spending something like an unprecedented $10 million a month in the primary (partly due to the backers of others0.

Man, the oil companies really have it made.
They can shut down refineries on a whim and drive up prices virtually overnight (which is pretty much what they have been doing) despite the fact that there is both a) weak demand and b) a glut of supply of their product.
Then by default half of the country will blame whomever is in the White House at that given moment for the fact that the price of their product (and their resulting profits) are soaring.
It's win-focking-win I tell you!

That is troubling if true.
I've heard reports that the Grinch was being funded by one guy, I hadn't heard the rest though.
