I didn't say vengeance made it okay. Quite the opposite actually since I said it would be emotional and not logical, but to say I could detach myself from an event where someone killed one of my loved ones would be straight out lying. I know I couldn't. I am only speaking for myself not for others.
So your next step should be to transcend vengeance/anger/hatred and not allow your emotions to overtake your logic. If killing is wrong, the suggestion to turn an entire nation or civilization into a glass parking lot should disturb you. Instead, you succumb to it.

Why do you think it doesn't? I can't think of a war I've supported. I will admit to wanting to lash out at the people that did 911 (which was an emotional response).. too bad we didn't attack them.
When we look into ourselves sometimes we don't like what we see. I know this isn't a good side of me, but I don't see me changing. I am speaking of the death penalty. I know you want to focus on war and I do not. I don't support most war.
Perhaps I am not explaining myself well. I've been guilty of that many times.

If there is no physical evidence tying someone to a crime the death penalty should be off the table IMO.
That said... I'm not going to cry any crocodile tears if they go through with this. The guy was serving time for another murder when this one happened? Good riddance.

Man I do not support the death penalty. I don't want the state killing in my name.
In theory I support the death penalty. There are people who plain and simply deserve to die but there isn't a situation where I'd ever empower my government to make that decision in my name.

Second degree murder. I agree with the first part of your statement, but it sounds as if he was found guilty only because he was guilty of the first murder. I don't think anyone should be executed for second degree murder.

I hate capital punishment and i think thats the point.
Its supposed to be hard, its supposed to be sick, etc...
I have mixed feelings regarding keeping it legal though. Id be okay with getting rid of it.
