But we follow the states in almost every regard. So i will assume it will get that way

I agree Fat Wong. Institutions lose their original purposes and become self sustaining, self perpetuating power structures. Our congress would quickly turn against the electorate if we attempted to remove all of them. People in power don't give it up without a fight.

Read up about him. He ignored lobbyists and many of the "suggestions" Congressional Democrats made to him. Consequently, he couldn't get much done because no one listened to him.
Multiply that by 10 and that's how Ron Paul would do.
Doesn't matter how independent the President is, if Congress isn't.
