Your original link says the cuts are coming to active duty soliders.

That's clearly not the case.

Opinions and reactions offered are based on this point.

It is full of lies.

"""The new plan hits active duty personnel by increasing co-payments for pharmaceuticals and eliminating incentives for using generic drugs."""

What part of that is not a cut in benefits to active duty?

Dude, the title of the article is 'Cuts proposed to Active Duty Soldiers'.

The ARRGLBARRGL in the original source was a result of that bold faced lie. The link is shite and not worth considering.

The Navy times and Military.com give much more accurate depictions of what's actually happening.

Arguing facts is not semantics btw.

Medicine cost more now. Everyone feels it.

True, Tych, but the last people you want to screw over is the people defending this country. Rome tried to do that, look where it got them.

Tali:

Navy Times:

""Ryan also opposes proposed increases in co-pays for prescription drugs, something that could raise the cost of a 30-day supply of a brand name drug to $34, up from the current $12.""

How won't this affect current active duty soldiers once they retire?

Its a benefit reduction all-around.

I understand the problems.

You want the military, but you don't want to pay up.

Have fun recruiting after you screw over the military veterans.

1. Veterans aren't being screwed over.

2. Recruiting will never be a problem, America will never have a shortage of rednecks or poor people.

People join the military for the benefits, not the pay.

Reduce those benefits = reduction in recruiting.

Unless you suggest a draft.

Add in military veterans grumbling about ANY possible reduction in benefits (future or present), around the kitchen table and veteran halls, and you breed a culture of "let someone else serve, not my kids."

Not even remotely in the ballpark of what your original article was claiming.

Now who's arguing semantics?

actually the original article claimed the same thing:

"""The new plan hits active duty personnel by increasing co-payments for pharmaceuticals and eliminating incentives for using generic drugs."""

Its a benefit reduction all-around.

It's like telling a worker that hey, they will have to pay more once they retire. Its a reduction in their benefits.

The ones they signed up for.

People sign up for the future benefits they get after service, not for the active duty pay.

GI Bill, VA home loan, retirement benefits.

It's not screwing over when we all have to pay. I am just saying that prices aren't static. They rise and fall and everyone feels it.

You don't want to even guess at what I pay in MA for medical insurance. Remember we have socialize medicine here. Everyone is covered and those that can't pay don't. Someone has to.

That's easy. Your link is shite and full of lies. The whole thing is to be disbelieved.

When you say the whole thing is to be disbelieved, you cant pick and choose what might be factual. You said the whole issue was false.

You're wrong in that regard.
