No wonder conservatives are so hostile towards intellectualism and science. Not only does truth have a liberal bias, but people who dedicate their lives to seeking the truth overwhelmingly reject the GOP. I guess they have all of the moral authority of Jesus, the Koch family, and McMBAs driving their viewpoints so it doesn't matter.

No surprise there.
I'm an engineer and am pretty moderate but I just can't stomach people like hughes, paulg, etc. I know I'm being trolled but the retarded things that come out of their mouth just aggravate me that I have to share a planet with them. Libertarians are getting more and more annoying as well with people like brother templar spouting off how government is the cause of all evil but somehow magically becomes ok if ron paul is president.
Liberals as a whole seem to be the only ones with some sense.

Many, if not most scientists live on the public dole or are educators. Many of them live their lives insulated from reality, in the Brigadoon of academia thinking that everything should work in the real world like it works on a college campus where the daily goings on are governed by as much or more bureaucracy as the "real world" and where the hierarchy of the ruling class (administrators and board over professors over peasants (students)) is quite literally feudal. No surprise that they would identify as liberals and democrats.
