If the economy continues with modest growth he can run on that too. Even with elevated unemployment, people will respond positively to the trend.

The rift was already there. Pakistan wasn't letting us in there to take out OBL. We couldn't even get intel from Pakistan on OBL, WTF makes you think they'd let us into their country to take him out if we'd simply been "more diplomatic?" The minute we announced to them that we knew where OBL was, they'd have alerted OBL and OBL wouldn't be there anymore.

Allies fight along side each other. Neutral don't help each other nor shoot at each other. Enemies shoot at each other.

Us and Pakistan have been neutral for a long while. They are traditionally friends with the Taliban but have allowed us to use their bases, air space, and occasionally even mount offensives against some of the more infested Taliban areas. These are all good things.
The bad side is that some Taliban sympathizers in the upper echelons of the government have fed the Taliban a steady stream of intel about us.
It has mostly balanced out because the Pakistani Government has been able to appease the masses about us, and keep a balance.

Then Obama chooses a headline grabbing raid to take out OBL instead of snipers, cruise missiles, a car bomb, etc. But US choppers and a special ops strike force.
Now suddenly things are tense, US soldiers are dying at a much higher rate under Obama compared to Bush.

If Bush got heat for his "Bring it on!" comments to the insurgents, and rightly so, then Obama needs to be held accountable for the ripple effects of his decisions.
Stop being a partisan douchebag and hold an equal standard.

Of course more troops were dying in Afghanistan in 2009-2011....we were actually fighting a war then, as opposed to sitting in underground bunkers in Kandahar, which was the main thing they were doing for the previous 5 years. We dramatically increased the number of combat troops and started major offensive engagements to take back the majority of the country.

I don't happen to think that this was a good idea, but attributing the increased number of US casualties to Obama's getting OBL is beyond stupid, it's not even faintly logical. The number of casualties increased dramatically long before it ever happened. Strange how it doesn't coincide with your stupid claim, and completely coincides with the increased offensive and the extra 30K troops Obama sent eh?

You are pathetic. Pakistan was never our friend, they were never neutral, they have consistently and constantly undermined the US military at every stage of both stupid wars Bush started. Afghanistan wouldn't have been completely stupid if he would have finished the damn job and got out, instead of attacking Iraq, but he didn't and so it was, and is.
