Not that I'm trying to single out Grym because I'm not, but this is the standard RWN response when you discuss anything at all positive that Obama has done. It is one of those many indicators that it is virtually impossible to have any sort of reasonable discourse in politics anymore, and that it is a waste of time to even try.

Obama approved the mission, even though intel couldn't guarantee that OBL was in the compound. You know damn well if things had gone poorly, OBL had gotten away and JSOC was left with a house full of dead Pakistani civilians that RWN's wouldn't be saying "It was the military's fault".

If you think that the military routinely runs operations where they send 90 men into a foreign country that we aren't at war with, without informing that country, and attack a compound next to that countries premier military college and largest military base, to kill a civilian, and they don't even bother to mention it to the president.....you are the biggest idiot that ever posted on this board.

The authorization and the impetus for the operation came from the very top, no other way it could have ever happened. The fact that you are trying everything in your power, including ignoring reality, to deny Obama played a pivotal in the operation taking place....is a clear indication that you are both full of crap, and wouldn't give the man credit for anything no matter what.

There is zero doubt that the decision came from Obama and that the responsibility belongs to him. The RWNs need to get off of it and acknowledge Obama on this one.

However while the LWNs continue chest thumping each other over this, they completely fail to acknowledge that the act has deeply driven a rift between us and the Pakistani government. What amounted to occasional sympathetic acts from them towards the Taliban in the past has swelled to titanic proportions. We are not getting intel help, we are not getting the cooperation we had in the past, and the Taliban is being allowed to move as they want.

Basically the same LWNs circle jerking over the raid will be the same ones looking for someone else to blame in a couple years when the Taliban emerges victorious in both Pakistan and Afghanistan. That isn't even accounting for the heavy American deaths that is happening now, currently.

Pakistan has been stabbing us in the back at every single god damned opportunity for the past decade, since W made them our "good friends".

How the hell do you think Obama spent 8 years sitting within spitting distance of their military college? The people there hate us, the government takes our billions in aid and funnels it to taliban fighters and jihadist fighting our troops in Afghanistan and, formerly, Iraq.

There is no way we could make the situation worse, they've been flipping us off and laughing about it since this whole thing started.

I think ptilk was talking about moe. And he's right. Pakistan is not our ally in this fight and never has been. While I'm sure the killing of OBL didn't help things diplomatically with Pakistan, that rift has been there since we went into Afghanistan. Actually it's been there since we started sending Dell tech support jerbs to India instead of Pakistan.

Pakistan is our new Cambodia. We're bombing the wrong brown people.
